The Amityville Horror House

Some homes have a history, but few are as well-known or horrifying as the Amityville Horror House ($1.15 million). Formerly listed as 112 Ocean Ave., this gorgeous Dutch Colonial was the site where Ronald DeFeo Jr. brutally killed six family members as they slept in 1974. Hauntings reported by later owners led to the bestselling 1977 book The Amityville Horror ($8) and the subsequent movie series. Features include a finished basement, large deck with views of the Amityville River, a renovated boat house, a central stereo system, and the chance for some supernatural houseguests. Love this so much...

I have some very close friends who has been in this band thru the years.
Andy La Rocque´s guitar playing has inspired very much.
I even knew i liked Gunslingers before i played one.
The first i ever touched was Andy´s. (guitar that is)
With the cover art from Abigail on the front.
This could seem silly to a lot of you, but what memory! Can almost taste it.
This is Mikkey´s best moment as well.

The King Diamond years i mean with that!

The Ibanez PGM "Elvis" and other finds

I must show you what i found on the net.
Paul is  a bit wacky, we all know that. And this is one of his finest moments?
Well next to YJM i guess you have to pull more than a rabbit out of the hat!

Then this......
Hmm..ok? It is called a "wollerman monster" i think.

And then i found the first cover we had when i was in HCSS. Young boys ey?
Saturday night fever? haha

Also some random pics (you have come to a certain point in life when you Google your own name, right? Pathetic!) I am looking for some photos of me playing Hamer guitars live. I did Two shows with them, Metaltown in GBG and some festival in germany. And there must be a picture somewhere.

A true story..

After a visit to Skåne Me and Jen took the train home and there was someone who decided to place their luggage on top of our Guild acoustic.
It became horrible!
When at home I opened the case and it had a crack where the neck meets the body, The binding had loosened at upper body and a huge crack on the top!
I cried..
Let me explain. This Guild was a one off, i loved it to death. The previous owner always let me know that he regret selling her. And always asks how she is and how much he loves that Guild. But i love her even more, period!
Like a cat or dog you had for years, you know?
But now?
Well, it is playable in a way but it does not sound the same. And it is very hard to repair to the original sound. So we call the insurance company and explain it all.
And to make a long story short. They Helped me out perfect. I send the Guild to them. I got money for a new guitar. But it still hurts and i miss her so. And the money will not help me find another one, not even close. And i told them that.
So a day goes by and they call me up again.
And like from out of a fairy tale for guitar nerds, he says:
I have checked the guitar and i wonder if you want to buy it back? I remember that it meant a lot to you and maybe you can have it for something. It is a shame just to throw her away!

And he give me a price that i would have paid for it jammed in a  plastic bag.
So now she is on her way back to us.

Trygg Hansa i fucking love you!

Saudi woman beating up virtue cop

A free Saudi woman resists Sharia. "Saudi woman beats up virtue cop," by Benjamin Joffe-Walt for The Media Line, May 17
It was a scene Saudi women's rights activists have dreamt of for years.
When a Saudi religious policeman sauntered about an amusement park in the eastern Saudi Arabian city of Al-Mubarraz looking for unmarried couples illegally socializing, he probably wasn't expecting much opposition.
But when he approached a young, 20-something couple meandering through the park together, he received an unprecedented whooping.
A member of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Saudi religious police known locally as the Hai'a, asked the couple to confirm their identities and relationship to one another, as it is a crime in Saudi Arabia for unmarried men and women to mix.
For unknown reasons, the young man collapsed upon being questioned by the cop.
According to the Saudi daily Okaz, the woman then allegedly laid into the religious policeman, punching him repeatedly, and leaving him to be taken to the hospital with bruises across his body and face.
"To see resistance from a woman means a lot," Wajiha Al-Huwaidar, a Saudi women's rights activist, told The Media Line news agency. "People are fed up with these religious police, and now they have to pay the price for the humiliation they put people through for years and years. This is just the beginning and there will be more resistance."...
We'll see.

Gothenburg this morning

They say that an 100 year old water pipe just cracked.
And the street sank half a meter down into the Gothenburg mud.
This city is just like Amsterdam but without all the lovely flowers.
Wet, muddy and a bit funky!

oh.. and the sign says
- for your safety, Led Zeppelin.

R.i.P Ronnie

Another great man has passed away.

Ronnie J Dio.
I had the chance to meet him several times and he was a sweetheart. Probably one of the nicest of all people i ever met. When i was a guitar tech for Phil Motörhead we did some shows together and even with hcss we met a few times. Very sad.

But i did find something funny this very early morning, (i am up for the x-ray again. Damn shoulder.)
This i stole from one of the great blogs i follow like crazy. guitarz.blogspot.com
Yes it is about guitars.

So this is the 100th blog post!

Well, what can you say. I kind of like this.
A couple of photos and some witty words and you are set to go.
I honestly did not think that i would keep the blog up. But i tell ya all,  when you are a working musician or doing anything creative i think it´s great to have a channel to write off on. Do you know what i mean?
In the past you had to do interviews for magazines to be able to tell your fans something, anything.
And it always had to be done their way!
Now i can write here and write what the hell i want without being miss quoted.
Bleeding reporters always write what they want, With a few nice ones in the big bowl of ugly fish though.
Anyway, the meeting went well and we are all on the same speedboat when it comes to my music. That feels very secure. Everyone involved has to have the same goal. Very important, or else it will fail!

7.29 and a head full of ideas

Today i am having a important early meeting. About how to make the next move forward with music.

I must say that i was impressed by The Ark´s "Magazine way to sell Cd´s. I have not heard the album and i am 100% sure i never will. Thats not the thing. It´s the finger to the record labels that i like.
I also want to release my music that way. As well as a proper Cd. But 100 pages of Silver could be a bit too much even for me! Did i mention they sold gold in a week!
There is only about 80 record shops left in the whole of Sweden . And about 1150 places where they sold The Arks magazine, including their new cd for 99 Skr. (ca 10€)
That is fucking brilliant.

So today we decide which song to record first. I have gathered a bunch of cool music so i hope it will go easy.
Lately i have been listening back to music that made me into what i am today. And i have tried to get inspired the same way i was back then. And it worked. If you have the same feel for a song for around 20 years and it still make you go nuts, it must mean something? If a certain guitar sound of riff send chills down my spine, how shall i interpret that? A wise man said once- (about a guitar sound from a hcss album)
-Thats a sound that will make kids pick up the guitar!
That is what i am going for!

Fuzz guitar show 2010

So many, too many guitars to keep the sanity intact. Weird and wonderful guitars.
A weekend that made me sick and got my back to hurt from walking to much. ( i am getting old)
Best was the Fenders as always. Same at the namm show in Jan 2010. They put out great products at the moment.
But even better than Fender and almost hard to describe was Helges Håla.
60-70 Japanese Les Pauls, Sg´s, Juniors, Explorers, Strats, Teles, Iceman, Basses, flying V´s and on and on!
There was not a single guitar in their room that i would not buy straight on, without even trying to  haggle 100 SKR. Everything was fucking fantastic. I wanted them all and i mean ALL! And the prices was stupid good.
I walked away with a awesome 1977 Greco Sparkle Sounds Stratocaster with the big CBS headstock.
So thanks to all at that shop, you rock!

Did C.C need 15 guitars in each Poison video?

This is again from my very close friend Gato el Glammo from Tinselpinsel city.

Recently on a music forum, somebody started a discussion.

Did C.C need 15 guitars in each Poison video? And the discussion started like crazy with some interesting answers. Check it out.

Every time the camera cut back to him, CC had a different guitar. Was this necessary?

Yes. How else would you get to see all the great B.C. Rich products available in stores now!

It's the only way he can make it through a song, one of them has to be in tune.

when you can't play worth a shit, how else can you attract attention?!?

How else would he look ultra cool?

I think in Poison's case, with those videos in particular, it was just a case of flashier is better.

Flashy? It's poison! Silly string! confetti! Pyro! Easy bake ovens! They'll do anything to distract from the fact they can't play worth the fuck.

Well atleast he didn't cry like a little bitch to distract you from his lack of talent like Kurt Cobain did.

I love looking at all those 80's guitars in those videos. CC played some beautiful looking BC Rich, Jackson, and Ibanez guitars. That BC Rich Gunslinger with the Patrick Nagel graphic is like looking at a Ferrari for a guitar player.

And then a guy entered, who used to be Tracii Guns room mate and guitar tech, and he also worked with Poison.

Sleek:

Well...

At first he had the Charvel with the flame job on it...then when we started touring, he left that at home and he had Roman Rist build two blue strats, one light blue, one darker, each of which got various sticker treatments (including a headstock logo I did with letraset that said "C.C. 'Pussyman' DeVille" LOL, and a fat naked chick from some fatty porn we found at a gig...that one used to get cropped/blurred out in magazines all the time icon_mrgreen.gif ), up to the point where I covered one entirely with chrome tape.

...then the B.C. Riches came in. That was sweet. We could get pretty much anything from them. I have fond memories of just sticking my hand in big bins of parts and taking whatever I wanted for spares...BC Rich was great to deal with, and Bernie was a sweetheart, especially when the band started to blow up.

The guitars in the Talk Dirty video were all on loan from Guitars R Us...the owner managed Poison at the time.

The unfortunate thing is, there was this prototype Jackson neck-thru strat that was specially made for Jeff Beck that DeVille threw off, (I was waiting off-camera), but he was standing on the cord...so it went to the end of the cord, then took a nosedive, snapping the headstock off...that thing would be worth $$$ now...if it wasn't broken! icon_biggrin.gif

...so...um...yeah.

The smile of a good deal!

Take a good look at this mans face, (if you can get past the legs). That smile is the smile of some good deals. I can tell you that he was offered 100.000 Skr for one of his swirled Ibanez uv´s not long ago.
And he turned it down with that same smile.
Then you know you have done a good deal!
The photo is a bit old but he promised me some new ones, with that smile on his face!
Tanks Stefan for always making me geek out a little bit more than usual..

Ibanez uv 77 mc

I met a friend from Sthlm in town yesterday. We walked to the local music shop, and from out of nowhere he just bought the brand new Ibanez universe 77 multi color re issue. 100 made, 1 for Sweden and the price tag says about 8000 dollars.. And it will arrive in June!
Now thats the way to go. Just love it when people spend a lot of bread on guitars, it makes me feel i little more sane. He´s a great guy and has got a wicked, and then i mean WICKED collection of Ibanez Uv guitars. About 20 Swirled and maybe 20 more. And thats just the 7 stringed Vai guitars. For the regulars, I wont even go there...

And check this...

I found this in town today

Actually three of them! Only 86 made for the entire world. The local music shop. M.U.G have Nr 50, 73 and 78. Nr 78 had the most stunning birds eye i have ever seen. Almost too much. These photos are from the web. The ones at M.U.G had even more birds eye. If you have the chance, check them out at the FUZZ guitar show in Gothenburg this weekend. I will be there.

And thats it!

Sold my last Gibson the other day. It was a nice custom shop guitar but i never really fell in love. Like it is with new Gibsons in my world. Not even a custom shop Gibson made it thru and into my heart!
Now you must understand that i say this because i really think they put out garbage. You see, i know these things. I have probably owned around 25-30 different ones since i started. Great guitars some of them. Let me tell you:
My 1959 les paul junior double cutaway was a monster of tone. Miss it much and sold it for 14000 skr and thats stupid but i needed the money at the time.
My Firebird is great, it´s from early 90´s. (Sorry forgot this one, i do still have a Gibson after all.)
All les paul classics (about 10) have been good guitars. But not perfect. All 335´s been horrible, just one have had something to deliver. It was from ´66.
See a pattern?

So try this one for size, The best guitar i have ever owned, played, tone, feeling, everything, was my old Tom Murphy Les paul ´59 copy that he made when he did not work for Gibson. He made 3 total. I had the one Noel Gallagher used on stage with The Who at Royal Albert hall.
Now thats a Les Paul.
This only my opinion so dont take it to seriously.
If you wanna see some weird and wonderful guitars, and some from my collection. check this.

Appetite for destruction

From Ed..

This is from edroman.com

March 2010

Gibson Recently came out with The Slash"Appetite For Destruction Guitar"

It struck me incredibly funny that Gibson actually attempted to copy a guitar that was originally a copy of a Gibson. Anyone who is even mildly aware of early Slash recordings knows that those guitars were not Les Paul's. In fact the first one & the three following were built by Max Baranella & Chris Derrig respectively.
These 2 Luthiers gained an underground following so incredible that used Max guitars are going for $15,000.00 when in fact there is nothing super special about them except that they use better woods & Components than Gibson .
Currently Used Japanese Navigators, Edward's, Burny's, Tokai's & Madores are selling for more than Gibsons.

There are currently at least 5 luthiers in the Los Angeles area that I personally know of that are building these guitars for prices exceeding $13,000.00. The really amazing thing is that people are actually buying them.
No wonder Gibson finally came out with the
"Appetite For Destruction Guitar" .I am watching and waiting to see if even more people will fall for Gibson's latest marketing ploy.
