Thursday

Today i will be working in my studio with a friend of mine,  Martin Friberg. I am going to record a solo on his bands debut album. If i can find the damn song! Seem to have lost it when i changed to the MacBook Pro. I have a cd somewhere but....Well i sort it out somehow.
I saw a fantastic Les paul deluxe - 78 at the local music shop yesterday. All black, very rare on a deluxe, and it was mint. Weights nothing. Very strange as they are usually very heavy. I have to geek out on it.

Rev. Billy Gibbons The king of cool guitars and tone

You know i am a sucker for pointy guitars. Not because of the hair metal scene of the eighties alone, not at all. Because of Billy Gibbons. I cant remember the first time i saw ZZ Top with all those furry and spinning guitars and basses but something happened thats for sure. So here is a little collection of Billy´s awesome guitars. No matter what it says on the headstock. They are all made by John Bolin of Bolin guitars. Exept the eight ball guitar and bass. made by Hamiltone, who made Stevie Ray Vaughn´s custom inlay Strat. Check their sites if you like.

Keef

A bit bored today so..
This weeks fashion award goes to Keef, ,, Again.

And a classic Swedish Jan Stenmark for the Swedish reading.
I am a huge fan of J. Stenmark. Got his books at hand at all times. Great humor!
I could do a whole page just filled with his work. Love it.

Got to find a back up band for the gig (i almost have) as well!?  I have asked some close friends to assist so lets see about that in a while. Should be confirmed soon a think.
It´s in Gothenburg and i am the opening act.
(It is gonna be an open shooting range)

And what guitar to use?

The Guild x-80

Sometimes i don´t really know what to write here, so in this case i show you one of my all time fav electric guitar. American made Guild x-80. So what can a guitar with a ice cream name from the eighties have thats so special? First off it is one of the rarest 80´s guitar you can´t find. I don´t know how many was made. It sure has some spectacular features with the maxed body shape, neck size, pots, Dimarzio pups that does not seem to exist! There is one weirder Guild out there and thats the Bladerunner(check Joe Perry, Walk this way video with Run DMC).
Highly figured maple body and neck with ebony fretboard. Kahler bridge.
I have only seen one more in person and maybe one or two in some photos.
Try search for a picture of one on google! I dare you ....you won´t find one.
I got mine in Tokyo when i was searching for guitars in the coolest city in the Universe.
Musical instrument district....it said on the map. Can you believe it? The biggest freakin´
street, both sides Packed door to door with guitar shops? There was guitars outside the shops like a bleeding market.
Silver heaven.
So in the stairs, between floor 3 and 4, there it was.
I almost fell down 2 floors because i really did not expect to find one. Ever.
Sure, I bought it right after catching breath again, and a couple more but thats another story.
So enjoy if you are able to.

All those crazy dreams that never fades

Hi all!
I´ve been working a lot with music for the last weeks and have come up with a bunch of great songs.
I have recorded some demos and i have learned a bit more about The world of Cubase. Some songs written by me and some with other musician friends. (Jonas Almqvist, Andreas Kleerup, Timo Räisänen amongst a few)
I have a fairly nice set up that works great for demos and for recording guitar or vocals. I have even fucked around some with our old Bösendorfer Grand piano, just to try to get a good sound and try different microphones as well.
Got some Summit Audio pre-amps and compressors.
So there´s about 7-8 songs and more to come. I record it all by my self for the moment so before a final product theres a lot to do. I have some plans to where to record these songs one day!

I also had a few interesting meetings regarding my music lately, and i think i actually will release some of  it some time this year. A single first. And i even got a gig request.. time will tell.
This boy haven´t been so lazy lately you see!!

"Maybe i will do an album.
Maybe i will go on tour.
Sure there must be some fans,
For this aging RnR star."
