Ibanez Prototype Paul Gilbert

As my arm is fucked.
I can´t play yet  but i can fix all my guitars that need "the fix".
So today my Dimarzio PAF 36th anniversary that i ordered some time ago arrived from Crafton.
I installed them right away(well not me, Lem at MUG actually worked the solder)
and i had coffee!
In my Ibanez Paul Gilbert Prototype that is. Don´t know what to call it else than a PGM prototype? It has the new PGM 301 laminate top and back so it was intended for being a sunburst or see thru paint. and the only PGM with those features is the latest release. But the new one has no middle pup and the bridge pup is moved a bit away from the bridge for less twang! This is truly a rare bird.
I thought that double creme bobbins look awesome on her.
FUDGE!
I was also on my way to put an old Dimarzio SDS-1 in the middle but it was to tall and would not fit.
Gonna search for something else there. And i had to put the signed plate that´s from my original Ibanez PGM 100. I also have an amazing Ibanez PGM 301
Until we meet again.

no arm done

Same shit today. I have not touched a guitar for a bunch of days and it´s  horrible.
My arm still hurts like a mother.. I also have a severe pain in my right wrist now. So all i can do is rest, rest and rest. And hope the fever settles a bit.
How fun!
So im on internet, very bored! Here you have some funky Guild ads..

Kids, remember to warm up

I have been playing to much guitar without a decent warm up again after all these years with the same problem in my right arm. One should think that maybe i matured a bit and start taking care of the bleeding arm. But no!
It hit me for real the first time in London, "Bad sneakers" tour. Suddenly i could not grab a bottle. It just slipped thru my hands! And a guitar pick was out of the deal. Intense pain from hand to shoulder.
Today its just the shoulder. In London i was fortunate to have Melanie there from Music for Nations, our label at the time and she had some very red, very red pills. -Here take this, don´t ask any questions, Thomas!
AND MY GOD!
Let me tell you it wasn´t a tylenol! And i found one here at home at the bottom of the old bag(and i mean the suitcase).
Gonna pop it in a minute!
Hope it still works, and from what i can remember, the London show was a gas.

ESP guitars

I have to continue on the J trail and i feel i have to post these guitars.
ESP is THE brand if you play J-ROCK. And if you don´t, i guess you play them anyway!
I was fortunate to have a sponsorship deal with with ESP guitars and they made me a couple of custom made nice ones, but the best one was the SG i told you about in the beginning of this blog.
These days i don´t like whats happening in the E.U and U.S with ESP. So boring.
So check these one´s instead. Oh, there is a Fernandes in there somewhere as well.
My God!

And this is how it should look in a workshop, tobacco and java.

I MISS JAPAN

When waking up today with a cup of java and a book about gentlemen, the book somehow got me thinking of Japan. And minutes after i was sitting with the MacBook pro surfing for Visual Kei bands. Just love them. If you are not familiar with the genre i suggest you google it.
I remember seeing Malice Mizer in Tokyo. Mana and Kozi, what a look.
And Dir En Grey at Loud Park. WOW. And Luna Sea, who was one of the biggest visual kei bands ever.

Its actually more about the clothes then what kind of music you play. Don´t take me wrong, they all play very well. But they become more like comic-book heros. The movement started in the 80´s. People like David Bowie, Boy George and culture club made the impact on the looks when they went there and got huge. So you got a mix of music styles stitched together thru their looks.
Check out Jrock in any form. Japan is so great in many ways. Supeinzaka is a sweet little road that you have to check as well. Spanish inpired i think. Shibuya, Harajuku, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, Roppongi and on...
miss it so much i can´t explain. So if you live in Tokyo and have a job for me and my wife, i call the moving service right away.

Been working hard in the studio

Seems that I don´t have the time to rehearse for the gig I got. There is only a few weeks and I really want to be prepared for my first solo gig. I have been in this game a long time and I know what it takes to perform in front of a full house. Perfection first....
The band I was about to open up for was The New York Dolls and that would have been great to do!
I have also recorded a solo for a French band who´s  band name I cant spell, Aesthesia I think.
Great band.
And a lot of my own material. A bit difficult to steer it all in the same direction at this point.
So speak to you soon again.
